Purpose
The Code of Ethics adopted by Baglietto S.p.A. (hereinafter ‘Baglietto’ or ‘the Company’) is a tool designed to implement best practices of conduct in business activities, in compliance with national and international regulations. It sets out the rights and duties, commitments, and responsibilities assumed by all those who work for or collaborate with the Company in any capacity. The Code aims to improve internal relations and to build a clear and unified external image, to eliminate opportunistic behavior, and to encourage the widest possible participation in pursuing positive objectives.
To this end, Baglietto is committed to creating and managing an organization governed by sound rules that clearly express its values, that can transparently identify behavior deemed unacceptable, and that can recognize and promote positive conduct.
This Code has been developed through a participatory process involving company management, employees, and collaborators, with the goal of defining standards of conduct with positive ethical value that are as widely shared as possible within the Company.
The Code therefore has a proactive nature. It is not intended as a punitive instrument, but rather as guidance for appropriate conduct in the performance of business activities.
The principles set out in the Code of Ethics, together with the Company’s business objectives and the strengthening of its ability to create employment, are pursued by ensuring that structures and processes meet adequate standards of decision-making and operational security. These standards are essential to the development of corporate activities, to the efficiency of business selection and management mechanisms, and to the quality of risk management and measurement systems.
The need to share as broadly as possible the values embraced by Baglietto requires that they be defined and clearly stated in an official document, enabling their widespread dissemination throughout the Company, so that all those who are part of it or collaborate with it in any capacity may consistently align their conduct with the stated principles.
Under no circumstances may the pursuit of an interest or advantage for the Company justify behavior that is inconsistent with the principles set out in this document.
The content of this Code of Ethics is also relevant for the prevention of offenses provided for and punished under Legislative Decree No. 231/2001, and constitutes an essential element of the preventive control system.
Mission
Baglietto S.p.A., headquartered in La Spezia, is a historic name in Italian yachting since 1854 and an icon of Made in Italy yachting. The shipyard specializes in the construction of new aluminum planing yachts from 35 to 50 meters and displacement megayachts over 40 meters in steel and aluminum. These activities are complemented by refitting and naval reconstruction of the highest standard, as well as by military vessel construction under the Baglietto Navy brand, a long-standing tradition of the Baglietto name.
The wide range offered by the shipyard does not limit the choices available to Baglietto owners, who can also rely on the shipyard’s complete flexibility, with part of its production dedicated to fully bespoke, custom-built yachts.
In February 2012, the shipyard was acquired by the Gavio Group, an international leader in construction and motorway concessions.
Baglietto’s significant commitment extends beyond the construction of its yachts to include extensive development and design activities for new models, which will form the foundations for future growth and consolidation. Each of these projects consistently follows the core conceptual principles that have defined the success of Baglietto yachts in the past, both in terms of recognizable style and in the uncompromising observance of seaworthiness, solidity, reliability, and safety, qualities that have always been distinctive features of Baglietto yachts.
Alongside this constant focus on product quality and reliability, Baglietto has always paid close attention to occupational health and safety, in full compliance with applicable legislation.
The Company has therefore undertaken the development of a voluntary integrated management system for Quality and Occupational Health and Safety, in accordance with international standards ISO 9001 and ISO 45001. It is committed to maintaining this system, obtaining third-party certification, and communicating its performance and objectives externally.
Baglietto S.p.A. focuses on research and sustainability, through new environmentally responsible solutions and low environmental impact choices.
